Araksa Tea Garden
Araksa Tea Garden is located on a scenic, evergreen hill in the Mae Tang District in Chiangmai, Thailand. It specializes in producing high quality Assam tea.
The tea garden covers 111 acres and consists of tea plants that range from 40 to 70 years old. The site is one of the oldest tea gardens in Thailand. In 1941, the tea garden began planting approximately 50 acres of Assam tea plants. The garden was then sold and left untouched for over 15 years until its new ownership in 2014.
Left undisturbed for many years, the tea plants have not been exposed to chemical pesticides or fertilizers. Today they are producing excellent organic tea leaves.

Meet Our Tea Expert

My name is Charliechan Intawong. My friends call me Charlie. After spending 10 years in a band as a singer in the 1950s, I found my passion in showing travellers what a wonderful country Thailand is. I started out as a trekking guide in northern Thailand in 1979 and never change a job ever since.
Recently, I found home in Araksa tea estate. This tea garden is located on a scenic hill surrounded by hill tribe villages (only 1 hour drive from Chiang Mai city). It’s one of only a few places in Chiang Mai that grow tea organically. Since tea grows well in clean atmosphere, it’s a good opportunity to get some fresh air and enjoy a beautiful scenery. I am eager to show you the tea making process from tea leaves to tea cup.
Hope to see you soon…..from uncle Charlie.
