Just a week before the university transitioned to online learning because of the coronavirus pandemic, the FIU Model United Nations team hosted its annual high school Model United Nations Conference (FIMUN). We have people from Eastern Europe, Canada, a few from Latin America. Interactive tools, including maps, epidemic curves and other charts and graphics, with downloadable data, allow users to track and explore the latest trends, numbers and statistics at global, regional and country levels. This speaks to the fact that we are willing to put in the work and we are able to adapt. I'm seeing firsthand what it takes to really put on a conference. The pandemic was certainly on the delegates’ minds. I would hope that we continue doing this even after [COVID-19 3/8 because I think it provides something really unique you can't always have access to.
